Srinagar : Police in Awantipora on Tuesday arrested two drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquartrs Srinagar Police said that during vehicular checking at Panzgam Railway Crossing, a Police party of Police Post Reshipora intercepted a vehicle (Tata Sumo) bearing registration no JK13A-7136 with two suspect on board who were identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam S/o Ab Rashid Hajam R/o Newa Pulwama and Anees Mohammad S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Karimabad. Stating that during search 130 grams of Charas like substance were recovered from the possession of the said who were arrested besides which the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No 106/2025 under relevant sections of law was registed at Police Station Awantipora besides which the investigation was also initiated.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police said that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
