DC reviews progress of PMGSY works in Kishtwar Distt

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects being executed in-different parts of the District.
At the outset, ExEn PMGSY apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the current status and challenges faced in the execution of the PMGSY projects.
A detailed review was conducted of key road projects including Marwah to Mulwarwan Road, Yurdoo to Qaderna Road, Margan Top Boundary to Mulwarwan Road, Ikhala to Lopara Road, Atholi to Pallali Road, Gahan to Chandali Road, Cherji to Semna Bhata Road, Kuleed to Hullar Road, Palali to Machail Road, Tikkan to Mori Road, Sohal to Chitto Road,Kundal to Affani Road,Kuriya to Keshwan Road, Kandni to Ohli Road and other important Projects.
Seeking details of project status, the Deputy Commissioner asked for the intervention of the State Quality Monitoring Team to conduct quality checks on Margi to Sukhnai Road, and other road projects in the district. Emphasis was laid on close monitoring and completion within a one-year timeframe.
To strengthen on-ground development, the DC instructed the field officers and Officials including AEEs and JEs, to remain stationed in remote areas. Concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars were assigned the responsibility of regularly monitoring of the projects.
Additionally, a committee comprising ACR and Tehsildar Kishtwar was constituted by the DC to examine and resolve issues concerning the Hullar to Kuleed Road in a time-bound manner.
Strict directives were issued to the PMGSY department to take disciplinary action, including blacklisting of non-performing contractors. The DC reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards substandard work and stressed the importance of quality control across all projects.
The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar, Shahnawaz Bali; Executive Engineer PMGSY Kishtwar, Rajesh Sharma; other concerned officials,Engineers and Contractors.
