Jammu: Police in Jammu on Saturday said that a case involving the theft of a donation box from a local temple was solved within days by Police Station Miran Sahib, resulting in the arrest of four accused and recovery of stolen items.
In a statement issued by the District Police Office Police said that Vinod Kumar, S/o Sh. Des Raj, R/o Chak Shian, had lodged a complaint on March 21, 2025 wherein he alleged that at about 1410 hours, some unknown unlawfuls entered Mata Situa Temple, village Chak Shian, and stole the temple’s donation box containing approximately ₹25,000.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 57/2025 under Sections 331(3)/305 BNS was registered, and investigation was initiated under the supervision of SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Jai Paul Sharma, Police in its statement further said that by efficiently utilising human intelligence and technical leads, the investigation team successfully cracked the case and arrested the culprits.
Police in its statement identified the accused arrested by it as Anil Kumar, S/o Kuldeep Kumar, R/o Ganda, Azhar Mohd, S/o Sakhi Mohd, R/o Ganda, Dheeraj Kumar, S/o Bawa Ram, R/o Ganda and Sahil Kumar, S/o Bua Ditta, R/o Badyal Brahmna. Police in its statement furthermore said that an auto bearing registration number JK02DE-8217, used in the commission of the offence was also seized. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that swift action by the investigation team has drawn appreciation from the people of the area, highlighting Jammu Police’s dedication to maintaining law and order and bringing offenders to justice swiftly.
