Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has cracked a theft case in Baramulla by arresting an accused for being involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 30th April Police Station Boniyar received a written complaint from one Mohd Ramzan Parray S/o Abdul Rahim Parray R/o Pehlipora Boniyar alleging illegal cutting and theft of his poplar trees by unknown persons, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 30/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered besides initiating further investigation.
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, investigating team zeroed in on one suspect identified as Mohd Maqbool Mir S/o Ghulam Mir R/o Pehlipora who confessed to the crime and identified Manzoor Ahmad Parray S/o Mohd Ramzan Parray also a resident of Pehlipora Boniyar as his accomplice in the case. Stating that after sustained questioning, the said accused confessed his involvement in the commission of crime Police in its statement further said that both the accused were arrested and, on their disclosure besides which stolen Poplar tree logs were recovered from their possession.In the concluding para of its bove quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to eliminate the social crimes from the society.
