Jammu : Police in Jammu on Friday said that efforts are being continuously made to strengthen police-public synergy and grassroots-level engagement across the district.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was held on May 1, 2025 at village Jeora Form, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 80 local residents and community leaders. The meeting was chaired by Sh. Gurmeet Singh, DySP SDPO R.S. Pura, accompanied by Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, SHO Police Station R.S. Pura, and PSI Majid Shafi, In-charge Border Police Post Chakrohi. Prominent attendees included Ex-Sarpanches Liaquat Ali, Sham Lal Bhagat, and Manohar Lal, along with social workers and panchayat members. Local issues—ranging from security concerns to civic amenities—were raised by the participants. Officers assured prompt redressal of police-related concerns and promised to forward administrative issues to the relevant authorities. Awareness was also raised about drug abuse, petty thefts, and the community’s role in crime prevention. Jammu Police reaffirmed its commitment to citizen-centric policing and called for continued cooperation to ensure peace, security, and harmony in the area
