Jammu Varsity Inaugurates Inter-Departmental Tournament For Men & Women

Jammu : The University of Jammu inaugurated its much-anticipated Inter-Departmental Tournament for the academic session 2025–26 with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit today at the University Gymnasium Hall. This year’s tournament features thrilling contests in Table Tennis and Chess, with separate events for both Men’s and Women’s categories.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations office University of Jammu here the tournament is being organized under the esteemed patronage of the Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, University of Jammu. The event is being held under the dynamic leadership and overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, and coordinated efficiently by Sh. Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba highlighted the significance of sports in enhancing students’ mental health, managing stress and fostering productivity. He further stated that such inter-departmental competitions play a vital role in building a cohesive and energetic university environment while contributing to the holistic growth of students.
