Jammu : Police in Jammu on Thursday said that in a heartfelt tribute to the working class, Superintendent of Police (SP) South celebrated International Labour Day with labourers at Narwal, on behalf of SSP Jammu. The initiative reaffirmed Jammu Police’s commitment to inclusive policing and community outreach.
The event was attended by SDPO East, SHO Police Station Bahu Fort, and SHO Police Station Channi Himmat, who engaged directly with the labourers, listened to their concerns, and acknowledged their indispensable role in supporting the region’s economy. Speaking on the occasion, SP South appreciated the hard work, resilience, and contributions of the labour force, stating, “Labour Day is a reminder to honour the dignity of work and the strength of those who build our communities brick by brick.” The officers also emphasized the importance of labour rights, health awareness, and assured continued support from police to ensure the safety and welfare of daily wage earners. SP South further said that police stations under South Zone remain accessible and responsive to the needs of every citizen, especially vulnerable sections like labourers who often work under challenging conditions. The event concluded with a renewed call to strengthen police-community relationships and promote dignity, security, and respect for all. Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to being a pillar of social justice and unity, extending beyond traditional law enforcement.
