3 vehicles seized, 3 suspects arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar : Police in Awantipora on Thursday arrested three suspects and also seized 3 vehicles used in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora DySP (P) Atif Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora arrested three supects identified as Tawseef Ahmad Dar, Mohd Asif Dar both residents of Hatiwara Lethpora and Zahoor Ahamd R/o Khanmoh Srinagar and seized three tippers bearing registration nos JK01AP-3692, JK13A-5111 & JK 05C- 6652 for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that a case under FIR NO. 101/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to remain vigilant and report illegal activities by dialing 112. Police, reiterating therein its commitment to take strict legal action against those violating mining regulations.
