Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case in Baramulla by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 29th April Police Station Uri received a written complaint from one Altaf Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Nabi Lone R/o Uri, Stating therein that during the intervening nights of 28th and 29 th April some unknown unlawfuls had entered his premises and stolen his scooty bearing registration no JK05N-5492 which was parked on the roadside near his residence.
Stating that a case under FIR No 45/2025, under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Uri besides initiating further investigation Police in its statement further said that during the investigation CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident and surrounding areas was collected and thoroughly analysed. Police in its statement further said that based on the evidence, investigating team zeroed in on one Gulzar Ahmad Parray S/O Habibullah Parray R/O Balkote, adding therein that following sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. Stating that the said accused was arrested and, on his disclosure, stolen property was recovered from his possession Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that investigation of the case is going on, Stating therein further that the swift and professional action by Police has been appreciated by the local community. Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to eliminate the social crimes from the society.
