DC Udhampur convenes public outreach camp at CFC Chenani

Udhampur : Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai on Wednesday presided over a public outreach camp at CFC Chenani.
The camp provided the residents a platform to voice their concerns and grievances directly to the district administration.
The event witnessed the participation of DDC member Usha Devi; Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh; SDM Chenani Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, former Sarpanches, Panches and a large number of local residents from the adjoining panchayats of Block Chenani.
During the outreach camp, the locals projected several pressing demands, seeking adequate staff at Higher Secondary School Sudh Mahadev, Upgradation of Girls High School Chenani to Higher Secondary School, Building for Higher Secondary School Basht, Blacktopping of Gorikund road, Blacktopping of circular road in Chenani Town, Proper Parking facility in Chenani town, finalization of campus land and starting of academic session of KV Mantalai, establishment of Indoor Sports Stadium at Chenani, Proper waste disposal facility in Chenani Town, identification of proper source of water for JJM schemes, promotion of Homestays for Tourism Purpose, Establishment of sub-division Employment and Counseling Centre at Chenani.
While interacting with the public, the DC said that extensive development is taking place in Block Chenani and the district administration is fully committed for overall development of the district. Responding to complaints regarding non issuance of NOC by PDA for renovation, she said that bottlenecks are being removed to ease the process. She emphasised that all the demands raised would be resolved on priority. The DC also briefed the people regarding the Government schemes such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, JK Samadhan Portal and other beneficiary-oriented and income-generating initiatives.
The DC issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned authorities for earliest possible redressal of grievances.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Member Legislative Assembly Chenani, Balwant Singh Mankotia, conducted a site inspection for the construction of an alternate link road from the Police Station to the new Bus Stand in Chenani.
