Srinagar: The mother of Syed Aadil Hussain Shah, a courageous pony driver who tragically lost his life in the recent Pahalgam militant attack, expressed her deep sorrow and unwavering pride in her son’s sacrifice for his country.
The grieving mother conveyed her emotions as hundreds gathered at their home in the Hapatnard area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district to pay their respects and offer condolences. Many were seen commending her for raising such a brave son.
“My son gave his life for his nation. He was always eager to serve and protect his people,” she said, her voice heavy with grief yet filled with pride. “Now, he has made the ultimate sacrifice. Although my heart is shattered, I take pride in knowing he died as a martyr.”
Reflecting on her loss, she added, “Whatever was destined by Almighty Allah has come to pass, but he died while fulfilling his duty, and for that, I am proud of him.”
On Saturday, several political leaders, including BJP leaders Ravinder Raina, Ashok Koul and Sunil Sharma, visited Aadil’s home to offer their condolences. They praised Aadil’s heroism, saying his bravery would be remembered for generations. They said Aadil died as a martyrs, sacrificing his life without a second thought to protect others.
The BJP leaders condemned the killing of Adil Shah as a brutal act of militancy, saying such violence knows no religion and continues to take innocent lives. They paid tribute to his courage, recognising him as a symbol of Kashmiri resilience and determination.
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with Syed Adil’s family in this moment of profound grief,” said Ashok Koul, BJP J&K General Secretary (Organisation). “His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and we assure them of our full support. The entire nation mourns with his family.”
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma called for combating militancy, which seeks to undermine peace and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir. He said, “The killing of innocent, hardworking youths like Adil serves as a stark reminder of the destructive intentions of militants, who are enemies of humanity.”
Ravinder Raina reached out to the bereaved family and the locals, assuring them of the BJP’s commitment to protect the lives and aspirations of all citizens in Jammu & Kashmir. The party leadership has called for immediate financial assistance and a government job for a member of Syed Adil Hussain Shah’s family to ensure their future security.
Hundreds gathered at Aadil’s home to pay their respects, hailing him as a true son of the soil who prioritised duty over personal safety. Local leaders and residents also offered condolences, recognising the immense courage and dedication Aadil displayed in the line of duty.
National Conference leaders, including MLA Salman Sagar and MLA Pahalgam Altaf Ahmad Wani, also visited Hapatnard to extend their condolences and assured the family of any assistance they might need. They honoured Aadil as a martyr who chose the lives of others over his own
