Srinagar: Below mentioned is the weeklong time of the key public engagements of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah:-
1. April 20, 2025;LG Sinha Directs Swift Action For Ramban Flood Victims: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives due to devastating flash floods in Ramban district. Chairing an emergency meeting at Raj Bhavan, Sinha instructed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and district administration to accelerate rescue operations and provide immediate relief, including food, shelter, and medical aid. “Our priority is to ensure no family is left without support during this crisis,” Sinha stated, announcing financial assistance for affected households.
2. April 20, 2025; CM Omar Extends Condolences, Pushes For Relief In Ramban: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conveyed heartfelt condolences to families affected by the Ramban flash floods, terming the tragedy a “stark reminder of nature’s fury.” In a statement, Abdullah urged the administration to prioritize rehabilitation and ensure timely aid delivery. He also directed officials to assess infrastructure damage and expedite restoration of roads and communication lines to aid rescue efforts, emphasizing, “We stand united with our people in this hour of grief.”
3. April 22, 2025; LG Sinha Vows Stern Action After Pahalgam Attack: Following the horrific militant attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, LG Manoj Sinha condemned the “cowardly act” and vowed to dismantle militant networks in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the media, Sinha announced enhanced security protocols and intelligence coordination, stating, “Those responsible will face the full might of our forces.” He also assured comprehensive support, including medical care and compensation, for victims’ families.

April 22, 2025;CM Abdullah Denounces Pahalgam Attack, Honors Local Heroes: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the Pahalgam militant attack as an “act of inhumanity” aimed at disrupting peace in the Valley. In a public address, he praised the bravery of locals, including pony operator Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who attempted to stop the attackers. “Their courage inspires us to fight terror with resolve,” Abdullah said, pledging financial and emotional support to the bereaved families and calling for communal harmony.
5. April 23, 2025; LG Sinha, CM Abdullah Pay Tributes To Pahalgam Victims: LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah joined Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Srinagar’s Police Control Room to pay solemn tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Laying wreaths, Sinha reiterated the administration’s commitment to rooting out militancy, while Abdullah emphasized unity, stating, “This tragedy strengthens our resolve to build a peaceful Jammu and Kashmir.” The leaders also met with injured victims at a local hospital.
6. April 23, 2025; CM Abdullah Attends Funeral Of Pahalgam Hero: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the funeral of Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a pony operator killed in the Pahalgam attack while attempting to protect others. Addressing mourners, Abdullah hailed Shah as a “true son of the soil” whose sacrifice would inspire generations. He announced a government job for Shah’s kin and a bravery award in his honor, underscoring, “His courage reflects the indomitable spirit of Kashmir.”
7. April 24, 2025; CM Abdullah Leads All-Party Meeting on Pahalgam Aftermath: In a significant move to foster unity, CM Omar Abdullah convened an all-party meeting in Srinagar to address the fallout of the Pahalgam terror attack. Attended by leaders like Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, the meeting focused on strengthening security, supporting victims, and countering divisive narratives. Abdullah stressed, “We must rise above politics to ensure peace and justice prevail in our region.”
8. April 25, 2025; LG Sinha Summons Special Assembly Session on Security: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved a special session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on April 28 to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and rising militancy concerns. The decision followed a recommendation from CM Omar Abdullah’s Council of Ministers. Sinha emphasized, “This session will chart a roadmap for a secure and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir,” urging lawmakers to unite against militancy.
9. April 25, 2025; Rahul Gandhi Meets LG Sinha, Backs Anti-Militancy Initiatives: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met LG Manoj Sinha in Srinagar, expressing solidarity with Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam attack. Gandhi assured the Congress party’s support in combating terrorism and rebuilding trust among communities. Sinha briefed Gandhi on ongoing security operations and rehabilitation efforts, stating, “National unity is our greatest strength in this fight.” The meeting underscored bipartisan support for the region.
10. April 25, 2025: CM Abdullah Welcomes Rahul Gandhi, Discusses Regional Stability: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hosted Rahul Gandhi in Srinagar, thanking him for his visit during a challenging time. Abdullah briefed Gandhi on the Government’s response to the Pahalgam attack, including victim support and counter-militancy measures. “Together, we will ensure Jammu and Kashmir emerges stronger,” Abdullah said. The leaders also discussed long-term strategies to boost tourism and economic stability in the region.
