Jammu: in a major development in the ongoing investigation of the Gataru murder case, Police Station Nowabad, Jammu, on Saturday produced chargesheet in Case FIR No. 14/2025 under Sections 103(1), 49, 111(2)(a), 304 BNS & 3/4/25 Arms Act* before the Hon’ble Sub Judge Court Jammu.
Reports said that chargesheet has been filed against the accused: identified as Harsh Singh @ Banta S/O Ramesh Singh, R/O Bikram Chowk, Jammu , Abhey Partap Singh @ Mui S/OKaran Singh, R/ONai Basti, Jammu, Mithun Kumar S/OMunshi Ram, R/ODhoon, Tehsil and District Jammu, Shiv Kumar @ Koda S/O Madan Lal, R/O Sharika Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu, Amit Kumar @ Chidi S/ORattan Lal, R/OGole Panjpeer, Talab Tillo Jammu, Arun Kumar S/ORajesh Kumar, R/O Bikram Chowk, Jammu, Yudhvir Singh S/OVirdev Singh, R/O Mandi Sangwali, Tehsil and District Samba, Ruhan Farooq S/OFarooq Ahmed Mughal, R/O Gool, District Ramban; currently residing at Asrarabad, Sidhra, Jammu. Additionally, the police have urged the Court to initiate a Trial In Absentia for the accused including Vikas Slathia @ Vicky Khouff @ Vicky S/O Ravinder Singh, R/O Mandi Gharota, Gurha Slathia A/P Gurha Morh, Vijaypur, District Samba, Vikramjeet Singh S/OMalkit Singh, R/OFatahpur, Chabbal Road, Amritsar, Punjab, Bodh Raj @ Guggi S/OSom Dutt, R/O Shehzadpur, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba. In addition, a separate chargesheet is being prepared to be filed next week before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Jammu against two juveniles involved in the case.It is pertinent to mention here that Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh (under the leadership of Inspector Deepak Pathania, SHO Police Station Nowabad, comprising Inspector Vikas, Inspector Varuneshwar Singh, PSI Aziz Tariq, PSI Vikram Manhas, PSI Irshad Ahmed, PSI Paramjeet Singh, HC Jaipal Singh and HC Jehangir Khan. The SIT functioned under the supervision of DSP Police Component Jammu, Shri Rohit Chadgal, and overall supervision of Kameshwar Puri, SP Police Component Jammu. The investigation team worked tirelessly, conducting extensive raids across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to apprehend the accused and collect crucial evidence. The investigation has resulted in the seizure of 3 vehicles, 4 pistols, along with several magazines and ammunition, and 2 sharp-edged weapons from various locations associated with the accused. In total, role of 13 accused persons has surfaced so far during the investigation of this case. The investigation is uinderway with Jammu Police committed to giving justice to the victim and ensuring public safety.
