DDC Reasi conducts extensive tour of Mahore; assures swift action to public demands

Reais : District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik Tuesday conducted an extensive tour of Block Mahore to assess the developmental needs of the area and to engage directly with local residents. During the visit DDC interacted with locals and listened to various issues related to daily wagers, welfare schemes, threats from wild animals, and improvement in infrastructure such as roads, drainage, and healthcare facilities including. Concerns also included MGNREGA payment delays, pending contractor dues, and staffing shortages.
DDC Reasi assured swift action and timely redressal of grievances. She directed XEN Jal Shakti to ensure wage disbursement by the 10th of each month for daily wagers. She instructed Agro and allied departments to conduct regular awareness camps so that people can avail benefits of both Central and J&K government-sponsored schemes
Responding to PMAY grievances, DDC directed that concerned officers must inspect the construction status of each PMAY beneficiary to ensure compliance with the scheme’s guidelines. Action will be taken against those who have received payments but failed to initiate or complete construction of their houses.
She directed Gram Sevaks to ensure regular field visits, while the CDPO Mahore was instructed to conduct regular inspections of ICDS centers to improve nutrition delivery for children. The Labour Department was also directed to hold awareness camps in Mahore to inform the public about various welfare initiatives.
As part of her tour of Mahore, District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, visited PALASSH – the Children’s Home for Boys. During the inspection, she reviewed staff deployment, assessed the nutritional provisions being provided to the children, and interacted with the officers. She instructed the XEN PWD Mahore to renovate the building within the stipulated timeframe.
DDC also visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) Mahore and conducted a thorough inspection of all its sections. She directed the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mahore to ensure proper cleanliness and upkeep of each section, stressing that a clean environment is essential for quality healthcare and patient satisfaction.She also visited the Boys Hostel and the Plastic Waste Management Unit to review facilities and assess ongoing operations.
In addition to this DDC Reasi, Nidhi Malik Tuesday also inaugurated a newly constructed water reservoir at Phadi, completed under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The project, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh, aims to improve access to clean and safe drinking water for the local population.
ADC Rakesh Kumar, SDM Mahore Shafqat Majeed Bhat, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD Pardeep Kumar , DFO Mahore, CAO, XEN PWD and Jal Shakti, Tehsildar Mahore and other senior officers were present.
