Shopian: A comprehensive day-long training-cum-orientation programme for Yuva DOOTs was conducted on Monday at the meeting hall of Mini-Secretariat Shopian.
The event was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, who is also Nodal Officer Mission YUVA Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC emphasized the critical role of youth empowerment in promoting grassroots entrepreneurship.
ADDC encouraged the Yuva DOOTs to become catalysts of change and assured them of full institutional support. He highlighted the need for youth-led development and community participation to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the district.
The training was designed to equip Yuva DOOTs with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify, support, and guide potential entrepreneurs within their respective panchayats.
Participants received extensive training on their roles as grassroots motivators, tasked with spreading awareness of various self-employment schemes and facilitating youth engagement at the village/ward level.
The training session emphasized the importance of key performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring the effectiveness of the initiative, ensuring that the Yuva DOOTs remain result-oriented in their approach.
A detailed overview of Mission YUVA and the Institutional Business Support Mechanism was presented by the Employment Officer (DECC), Shopian.
The Career Counselling Officer shared the insights from the baseline survey conducted earlier to identify youth with entrepreneurial potential enabling the Yuva DOOTs to understand the scope and focus areas of their intervention. The training covered all relevant parameters including mobilization techniques, scheme benefits, documentation and reporting formats.
The interactive sessions held during the training fostered active discussions and allowed DOOTs to seek clarifications and share suggestions.
Resource persons, including DDM NABARD, DNO JKEDI also provided sector-specific guidance through PowerPoint presentations and live demonstrations of the Mission YUVA App/Portal, ensuring a hands-on learning experience for all participants.
