BGSBU Organizes Placement Drive

Rajouri : In an effort to strengthen placement opportunities for its students, the Training & Placement Cell of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, in collaboration with ICICI Bank Ltd., successfully organized a Pre-Placement Drive on April 21, 2025. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 292 final-year students from various departments of the University.
The session was presided over by Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU, who emphasized the University’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry.
In his address, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, extended his gratitude to ICICI Bank Ltd. for engaging with BGSBU and lauded the efforts of the Training & Placement Cell in organizing the drive. He urged students to prepare themselves for the challenges of the corporate world, highlighting the University’s consistent record of producing competent and industry-ready graduates.
Sandeep Sharma, Zonal Head, ICICI Bank Ltd. for Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh UT, delivered a comprehensive Pre-Placement Presentation, wherein he elaborated on the job roles, eligibility criteria, and the selection process at ICICI Bank. He encouraged students to actively participate in the upcoming test, the link for which will be shared shortly with all eligible candidates.
Sharma assured maximum placements from BGSBU and expressed deep satisfaction over the quality of students and the coordination of the event. He reaffirmed ICICI Bank’s continued collaboration with BGSBU in the coming years for recruitment drives.
Prof. Jahangir Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, emphasized that student placements are a reflection of the quality of education imparted by the institution. He commended the dedication of the Training & Placement Cell and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to benefit the students in future.
Earlier, Dr. Malik Mubasher Hassan, Convener, Training & Placement Cell, welcomed the guests and shared insights about the event. He informed the audience that the collaboration with ICICI Bank was initiated in November 2024, and after nine written communications and several verbal interactions, the drive materialized. He acknowledged the contributions of ICICI Bank officials, faculty coordinators, and the Placement Cell team, particularly Zakir Hussain, for the successful execution of the event.
As a token of appreciation, Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal presented mementoes and shawls to the visiting dignitaries from ICICI Bank, including Sandeep Sharma, Zonal Head J&K & Ladakh UT, Rajesh Parihar, Regional Head – Sales, Institutional Banking Group, and Om Prakash Choudhary , Regional Head – Retail Banking ICICI.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shafqat Nabi Mughal, Member, Placement Cell and Principal Polytechnic, BGSBU.
Deans, Heads , faculty members and students of various departments participated in the event.
