Bandipora: For effective and efficient implementation of MISSION YUVA and as part of the training and capacity-building initiative under Mission YUVA, a day-long orientation and training program was conducted on Saturday for Yuva DOOTs at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri emphasized the importance of empowering youth at the grassroots to foster entrepreneurship and promote self-employment opportunities. He stressed its basic objective of guiding potential entrepreneurs and urged the YUVA DOOTs to approach the task with dedication.
The training aimed to help assigned Yuva DOOTs understand their roles and responsibilities and how these DOOTs can effectively support and guide aspiring entrepreneurs in the district and to equip Yuva DOOTs with the necessary skills and knowledge to connect with and support potential entrepreneurs in their respective panchayats.
Speaking at the event, DC highlighted the importance of empowering youth at the grassroots level. He said that the main objective of Mission YUVA is to identify potential entrepreneurs and support the government in job creation. “This mission shows youth the right path and helps them grow in the field they’re passionate about,” he said.
He also urged the Yuva DOOTs to attend the training sincerely and implement the knowledge in the field with dedication. He stressed that good coordination among banks, EDI, Employment, and Industries departments is crucial for the successful execution of the mission.
DC shared that a detailed baseline survey was recently carried out by investigators and supervisors to identify potential entrepreneurs across the district. “The survey gave us a better understanding of the youth’s aspirations. Now that we know who to focus on, it’s easier to guide and support them in the right direction so they can become valuable contributors to society,” he added.
During the session, Project Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Bandipora presented a PowerPoint presentation explaining the operational guidelines and the application process under Mission YUVA.
The training featured interactive sessions that encouraged open discussions, enabling the Yuva DOOTs to ask questions, clarify doubts, and share valuable suggestions. With a clear action plan and comprehensive orientation, the DOOTs are now equipped to begin outreach in their respective areas and actively support entrepreneurship development under Mission YUVA.
Among others, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Assistant Labour Commissioner Bandipora; LDM Bandipora and other concerned officials.
