DC B’pora, MD review progress of JJM, emphasise timely completion of works

Bandipora : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri and Mission Director (MD) Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Friday jointly reviewed the implementation status of the Jal Jeevan Mission in a meeting held here.
On the occasion, the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Bandipora provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing JJM projects in the district, highlighting the current progress and the challenges faced.
It was informed that 121 schemes, with 240 works, are currently underway across the three sub-divisions of Bandipora, out of which 60 schemes comprising 160 works have been successfully completed.
The meeting focused on a detailed review of the progress of civil works, mechanical works, and the status of electric substations under the JJM projects.
The officers also discussed the ongoing efforts towards achieving the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ target and reviewed the progress of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC).
MD JJM urged the officers to expedite the work on pending JJM schemes and ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.
He emphasized the importance of simultaneous actions, including dumping of filtration media while constructing filtration plants besides instructing the Executive Engineer Mechanical to ensure the swift installation of necessary machinery and equipment.
Shah further emphasized the need for seamless coordination between all concerned departments to resolve any issues that might hinder the smooth execution of the works.
He asked all Executive Engineers to keep the Deputy Commissioner informed of issues hampering the progress of works for their prompt redressal.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining high quality standards in all ongoing works and ensuring transparency at every level of execution.
He also called for proactive planning and regular monitoring to address ground-level challenges effectively and achieve the targets within the stipulated timelines
Among others, the meeting was attended by SE Mechanical North, V.K Panditha, CPO Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Executive Engineers, AEEs, JEs, and other concerned officers.
