Srinagar :Police in Sopore on Thursday organized an online comprehensive training program focused on the investigation of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases, which was chaired by S P Sopore Divya D-IPS. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in handling NDPS cases effectively.
The training covered critical aspects of investigation procedures under the NDPS Act, including search and seizure, arrest, compliance of mandatory sections in NDPS Act etc. Further, the IOs were given training regarding financial investigation and procedures to be followed for forfeiture of properties of drug peddlers which are made from the proceeds of crime.
Besides, the Addl SP Sopore Mir Murtaza, SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir-, Dy SP DAR Sopore Mohammad Abdullah, DySP PC Wadoora Khursheed Rasool and SHO/IC PP’S and IO’S were present on the occasion.
On this occasion, the participants were educated on the importance of proper evidence handling and documentation to ensure a fair trial. Experts shared best practices in conducting investigations, highlighting the need for impartiality and adherence to legal provisions. The primary objective of this training program remains equipment of law enforcement officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to investigate NDPS cases efficiently and ensure conviction.
