Police conducts inspection of SIM Vendors to Curb SIM misuse in Handwara

Srinagar : Police in Handwara on Thursdat carried out a comprehensive inspection of SIM card vendors. The initiative was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with existing guidelines for SIM card sales and activations.
During the inspection, police teams focused on verifying adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, proper documentation, and measures to prevent the unauthorized issuance of SIM cards. Vendors were closely monitored to ensure their operations met all legal and regulatory requirements.
Emphasizing the crucial role of SIM vendors in safeguarding communication networks, Handwara Police urged them to strictly follow KYC procedures. Authorities warned that any violations would lead to strict legal action, including penalties, license cancellations, and possible prosecution.
