Baltal : In preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under Project SANJAY has initiated a large-scale snow clearance operation along the Baltal route leading to the revered Amarnath Cave Shrine.
With the annual pilgrimage expected to commence in the coming months, BRO personnel have been working round-the-clock to ensure the route is safe and accessible for the influx of pilgrims. The operation began earlier this month, with teams braving extreme weather conditions and heavy snow accumulation caused by a prolonged winter. Officials from the BRO confirmed that the snow clearance is progressing as per schedule. Advanced machinery and dedicated manpower are being deployed to expedite the process, with a strong emphasis on safety. Regular assessments are being carried out to monitor avalanche risks and landslide-prone stretches along the track. The Amarnath Yatra holds immense religious significance for Hindus, drawing lakhs of devotees every year. Ensuring timely snow clearance and route restoration is vital to facilitate a smooth and secure pilgrimage this year.
