Shopian: In a major push towards infrastructural growth and inclusive development, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Shopian, Adv. Shabir Ahmad Kullay, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for Rs 4.98 crore project titled, ‘Development of Adjoining villages of MC Shopian.’
The foundation ceremony was held at Pinjora, Shopian, in the presence of officials, public representatives, and local residents.
The ambitious project, initiated by the Municipal Council Shopian and to be executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department, aims to enhance connectivity, civic amenities, and infrastructure in the peripheral villages of Shopian town.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA reaffirmed his commitment to equitable and balanced development.
He stressed the importance of upgrading infrastructure to bridge the gap between townships and their adjoining settlements, thereby fostering sustainable growth.
Local residents and community leaders welcomed the move and expressed hope that the initiative would bring long-pending infrastructural improvements to fruition.
