Poonch : District Administration Poonch, in collaboration with Poshan Unit, celebrated the Seventh Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada 2025 with great enthusiasm here at the Auditorium Hall of SKC GDC.
The campaign focused on four critical themes set for this year — the first 1,000 days of life, popularising the Poshan Tracker’s beneficiary module, community-based management of malnutrition, and addressing childhood obesity through lifestyle changes.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal was the chief guest at the event attended by ACR Mohammad Sayeed; PO ICDS Khalid Hussain Wafa; DSWO Wakeel Ahmed Bhat; Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz, ACP Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and Professor Rakesh Sharma from GDC Poonch, along with a large number of female guests.
In his address, the DC emphasized the importance of the POSHAN Abhiyaan, a national nutrition mission aimed at improving the nutritional status of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. He commended the staff working on the mission for their dedication and achievements.
PO ICDS, ACR, CMO and others also addressed the gathering, stressing the significance of the mission and its various initiatives.
The event featured engaging skits, speeches, and awareness activities focused on Mission Poshan schemes, such as “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi,” traditional dietary practices, health education for pregnant women, infant and young child feeding practices, and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, along with information on Aadhar enrollment.
The celebration concluded with DC presenting awards and certificates of appreciation to the best performers in the mission, recognizing their invaluable contributions to enhancing nutrition and health in the community.
This celebration underscored the commitment of the District Administration toward enhancing nutrition and health awareness among the community.
