According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the event was held at the Qalamabad Police Station and other designated locations across the district, with the aim of addressing public grievances, enhancing transparency, and promoting trust between the police and the community. SSP Handwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhury, personally addressed the gathering at the Qalamabad Police Station, emphasizing the importance of community participation in maintaining law and order.
During the Lok Darbar, citizens were given the opportunity to voice their concerns, report grievances, and seek redressal for issues related to policing and public safety. Other senior police officers, including SDPO Handwara, DySP DAR, Station House Officers (SHOs), DOs and Investigating Officers (IOs), were present at various locations across the district to interact with the public and address their concerns. The event witnessed a significant turnout, with citizens appreciating the initiative and expressing their satisfaction with the responsive approach of the police.
SSP Handwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhury, stated, Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar is a platform for us to connect directly with the people we serve. It is our duty to ensure that every citizen feels heard and that their grievances are addressed promptly. We are committed to building a safer and more secure environment for all.
