Shopian: In a significant step towards women empowerment, the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW) under Mission Shakti Shopian organized a comprehensive awareness programme at Anganwadi Centre, Malibug on Wednesday.
The event aimed to educate the local community, especially women about various welfare schemes, including pension schemes for the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities, marriage assistance for underprivileged girls, employment opportunities, and skill development programmes.
Officials also sensitized participants about the services of the OSC and shared essential helpline numbers for women in distress.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with locals appreciating the efforts made to bridge the information gap at the grassroots level.
Officials encouraged women to avail themselves of these schemes and take proactive steps towards self-reliance and empowerment.
