Cricket tournament organized by Police in B’pora concludes

Srinagar: Final match of the Cricket Tournament which was organized by Police in Bandipora on 24th of March under Civic Action Programme concludes on Tuesday at Sports Stadium, Bandipora. A total of sixteen (16) teams from various parts of District Bandipora participated in the tournament on knockout basis. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth and saw a large turnout from different areas of Bandipora.
The primary aim of this initiative was to channelize youth energy into sports and recreational activities, thereby discouraging drug abuse and other negative influences. The final match was contested between Bhat-11 Bandipora Vs Arif-11 Ayatmullah, with the latter emerging victorious in a thrilling encounter. Team Ayatmullah-11 lifted the winner’s trophy while the Bhat-11 Bandipora, finished as runners-up.
The event was graced by SSP Bandipora Shri Harmeet Singh Mehta-JKPS, Addl. SP Bandipora, DySP Hqrs Bandipora and other officers were also present on this occasion. The dignitaries appreciated the participants for their commendable sportsmanship and encouraged the youth to take part in similar positive activities.
