Jammu : Police in Jammu on Monday said that SP City South held a comprehensive review meeting with MSIs, MASIs, and MHCs of the South Zone to strengthen internal policing mechanisms and reinforce public accountability.
The interaction focused on improving ground-level functioning. SP City South assessed register maintenance, condition of police lock-ups and malkhanas, and preparedness at Police Stations and Posts. Directions were issued for proper upkeep, timely record updates, and courteous public dealing. Strict adherence to departmental protocols and swift correspondence compliance were also emphasized. Meanwhile, under the ongoing crackdown against illegal mining titled Operation Ploughing, two JCB machines were seized by Police Post Phallain Mandal while engaged in unauthorized excavation. In a separate incident, Police Post Belicharana detained a tipper loaded with crushed stone (bajri) for violating Form A provisions. The cases have been referred to the District Mineral Officer (DMO) for further action.
The South Zone Police on this occasion reiterated its commitment to enforce law, promote transparency, and curb illegal mining, appealing therein people to protect the environment and enhance police accountability.
