Srinagar: Police in Sopore have organized programmes on new criminal laws at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sopore and Government Higher Secondary School Dangiwacha Rafiabad.
The programmes focus on educating students about the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, which replace the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act, respectively. The objective is to create awareness about the rights and responsibilities of citizens under the updated legal framework, promoting a safer and more just society. The programs are designed for students, particularly those in higher secondary schools, to educate them about the new laws and their implications.
The awareness programmes are expected to empower students with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, contributing to a more informed and responsible citizenry.
