Tawi, Ravi Canals being recharged on April 7-2025

Jammu : The Irrigation Department has geared up to release waters in Tawi and Ravi Canals on the coming Monday, a departmental notification stated on Thursday.
“It is notified for the information of the public in general and farmers in particular that the water in Tawi and Ravi Canals of this department shall be released from 07.04.2025. The Executive Engineers of RCC U/Division, Kathua/RCC Lower Division Hiranagar besides TCC Division Jammu are directed to plan their activities to ensure completion of all the ongoing works well before the recharging of the canals”, it stated.
The Executive Engineer concerned have been asked to constitute teams in their respective jurisdiction which shall monitor flow in canals/distributaries system during release of water as it reaches their jurisdiction to ensure its safe passage right up to tail and to avoid any untoward incident.
