Srinagar: Police in Kulgam on Thursday said that it has recovered illicit kerosene in the jurisdiction of Police Station DH Pora and also arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a special checkpoint was established by the police party led by I/C Police Post Nehama at Pombay near Takiya Gopalpora crossing, adding therein that during checking one vehicle (Load carrier) bearing registration no UP19T-6079 was intercepted and during search 3 barrels filled with 600 litres of illicit kerosene were recovered. Police in its statement further said that the said accused identified as Manzoor Ahmad Itoo S/o Ali Mohammad Itoo R/o Pombay, Kulgam involved in the commission of crime was arrested besides seizing the vehicle.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 16/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station DH Pora and the investigation is in progress Police in its statement further said that as per preliminary investigatkion the accused was selling the Kerosene oil illegally in black market.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or illegal practices they come across.
