Jammu: Jammu Police on Wednesday said that they have intensified their crackdown on crime under Operation Ploughing, targeting illicit liquor trade and illegal sand mining in the South Zone. In two decisive actions, PP Chatha dismantled an illicit liquor operation and halted illegal sand mining, reinforcing their commitment to law enforcement.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that PP Chatha apprehended Kamal Sharma, a resident of Chatha Mill, for selling illegal liquor from his shop. Twenty quarters of illicit liquor were seized from the premises, and a case has been registered at Police Station Satwari under relevant legal provisions.
Simultaneously, under Operation Ploughing, PP Chatha intercepted a dumper illegally transporting sand in violation of Form A regulations. The vehicle was impounded, and the DMO Jammu has been notified to initiate legal proceedings.
Additionally, Jammu Police South Zone took multiple enforcement actions, including traffic violations, preventive measures, and arrests of absconders across PS Channi Himmat, PS Bagh-e-Bahu, PS Bahu Fort, PS Gangyal, PP Nehru Market, and PP Greater Kailash.
The public has widely appreciated the zero-tolerance approach of Jammu Police, and authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to maintain law and order.
