Srinagar: In a significant step to enhance security measures and to keep a vigilant eye on NHW, Police in Kulgam on Saturday introduced advanced surveillance technology, including wall radar and thermal screening systems on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Navayuga Tunnel Qazigund, Kulgam.
The newly installed systems are designed to monitor and detect concealed contrabands, Illegal weapons, and other illicit materials within vehicles, reinforcing efforts to prevent smuggling and detect potential threats along the NHW in real time.
To assess the operational effectiveness of the newly installed system, senior officers, including the DIG (SKR) Anantnag Javid Iqbal Mantoo, Commander 1 Sector RR, DIG CRPF and the SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, Addl. SP NHW Qazigund, Kulgam were present, who expressed their satisfaction with the newly introduced technology and highlighted its importance in bolstering the security framework.
