Srinagar: Below are the highlights of weeklong key activities of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah:-
1. LG Sinha’s Tribute To Brave Hearts:
Kathua, March 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid homage to the valiant martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir Police who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during the ongoing Kathua encounter. He posted on X: “I bow to the valorous martyrs of J&K Police who laid down their lives for our motherland. My deepest condolences to their families. In the ongoing Kathua encounter, several militants were neutralized. J&K Police & Security Forces are on the job. Operation in progress.”
2. LG Sinha’s Greetings on Shab-e-Qadr & Jumat-ul-Vida:
March, 27: LG Manoj Sinha conveyed his greetings to the people on the auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida. “May the Almighty accept all our prayers and continue to guide us on the path of compassion, love, and harmony,” he stated.
3. Door-to-Door Garbage Collection Vehicles Flagged Off In Jammu:
March, 26: LG Sinha flagged off four garbage collection vehicles donated by ICICI Bank and ICICI Foundation to Jammu Municipal Corporation. Two additional vehicles were provided to Municipal Committee Basohli under the bank’s CSR initiative. He appreciated the bank’s support in improving waste management efficiency.
4. Compassionate Appointment For Reasi militant Attack Victim’s Family:
March, 25: LG Manoj Sinha handed over a compassionate appointment letter to Ms. Renu Sharma, sister of late Arjun Sharma, who was killed in the Reasi militant attack on June 9, 2024. The LG assured full support to the family.
5. Delegation From Parmeshwari Care & Cure Trust Meets LG Sinha:
March, 26: Representatives from Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust briefed LG Sinha on their initiatives to establish a Dogra Heritage and Culture Centre and an Elderly Care Home.
6. Release Of ‘Kailakh Sandesh Panchang Calendar’:
March, 25: LG Sinha released the 7th edition of the ‘Kailakh Sandesh Panchang Calendar’ published by Kailakh Jyotish & Vedic Sansthan Trust. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj was present. The LG congratulated the editorial team and emphasized the importance of preserving Vedic traditions.
7. J&K Cultural Festival At SKUAST, Jammu:
March, 25: LG Sinha attended the J&K Cultural Festival at Baba Jitto Auditorium, SKUAST Jammu. He lauded the efforts of Kailakh Jyotish & Vedic Sansthan in promoting cultural values and heritage.
8. Krishak Mela 2025 At R.S. Pura, SKUAST Jammu:
March, 24: LG Sinha attended the Krishak Mela 2025 and felicitated progressive farmers. He inaugurated four new facilities aimed at strengthening education, research, and farmer training. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing agriculture under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
Tribute To Veteran Leader Lalmuni Chaubey:
March, 24: LG Sinha paid tributes to veteran leader Lalmuni Chaubey on his death anniversary. He highlighted Chaubey’s lifelong dedication to public welfare and nation-building.

1. World Water Day Message:
March, 25: CM Omar Abdullah emphasized water conservation on World Water Day. “Every drop counts. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future where clean water is accessible to all,” he stated.
2. Condolences For Kangan Road Accident Victims:
March, 25: CM Omar expressed grief over the tragic road accident near Gund, Kangan. He offered condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
3. Planning Functions Under Review:
March, 25: In the Assembly, CM Omar announced that the decision to transfer planning functions to the Finance Department is under review. He highlighted reforms such as BEAMS, PROOF, and Janbhagidari aimed at transparency and efficiency.
4. J&K Budget and Home Deptt Grants Passed:
March, 26: The J&K Legislative Assembly passed the Budget along with grants under Demand No. 2 for the Home Department. CM Omar reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to development and security.
