Jammu: Jammu Police on Saturday said that they organized a ‘War on Drugs’ awareness program at Sheela Resorts, Talab Tillo, in collaboration with local youth and citizens to educate the community on the dangers of drug addiction and related crimes.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that the event saw the active participation of IC Police Post Talab Tillo, SHO Police Station Nowabad, and SDPO City North Jammu, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in tackling the drug menace. Several prominent citizens including Keshav Chopra, Sahil Sharma, Ayodhya Gupta, Ex-Corporator Sucha Singh, Ex-Corporator Neelam Mangotra, Sanjeev Panda, Vikas Gupta, Amit Sharma, and Manik Uppal, participated in the initiative, showing their support for a drug-free society. With around 80-90 attendees, the event fostered a sense of unity and responsibility among citizens to collaborate with law enforcement in the fight against drugs. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Jammu Police reaffirmed its commitment to intensify awareness campaigns and take strict action against drug peddling, urging people of the area to report any suspicious activities to help eliminate the drug menace from society.
