Aids & Assistive Devices distribution camps organized across Ramban Distt

Ramban: Special distribution camps for providing free Aids & Assistive Devices to pre-identified Divyangjans (PwDs) were conducted in three blocks—Ramban, Gool, and Banihal, here on Saturday.
The initiative was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) and organized by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Mohali (Punjab) Unit. ALIMCO operates under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India.
The event was held in the presence of HUDCO Manager Sham Lal, TSWO Mohammad Shahbaz from the Social Welfare Department, and Kanika Mehta (JM) from ALIMCO, who actively participated in the distribution process. Their presence ensured the smooth execution of the program and efficient delivery of assistive devices to those in need.
A total of 109 beneficiaries from various parts of district Ramban were identified in advance, and they were provided with 199 Aids and Assistive Devices of different categories. The total value of these assistive devices was approximately Rs. 12.53 lakh. These devices were specifically designed to improve mobility, accessibility, and the overall quality of life for the beneficiaries.
The distributed assistive devices included 45 Tricycles, 23 Wheelchairs, 21 Silicon Cushions, 1 C.P. Chair with Commode, 2 TLM Kits, 2 Rollators, 32 Hearing Aids, 12 Crutches, 10 Walking Sticks, 11 Sugamya Canes, 1 Smartphone, and 39 Calipers. These aids were provided to help persons with disabilities gain independence and lead a more comfortable life.
