Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has organized a three-day workshop for physiotherapists at the JKCA complex, GGM Science College, Jammu, from March 26 to March 28, 2025.

The workshop is being conducted under the aegis of the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), Bangalore, and aims to enhance the skills and expertise of physiotherapists associated with JKCA.

A total of 18 participants from across J&K, including physiotherapists who have previously worked or are currently working with JKCA, as well as some new professionals, are attending the workshop.

The event was inaugurated by Brig. Anil Gupta (Retd.), Member Administration, JKCA, who emphasized the importance of utilizing the knowledge shared by the BCCI team to improve player performance in the upcoming cricket seasons.

In his address, Brig. Gupta highlighted the crucial role of physiotherapists in maintaining players’ fitness and reducing injuries.

He stressed the need for building strong rapport with players to foster trust, which would ultimately lead to better rehabilitation and performance. He also expressed gratitude to the BCCI for organizing this first-of-its-kind workshop in J&K and hoped for more such training sessions in the future to benefit local physiotherapists without requiring travel to Bangalore.

The expert team conducting the workshop is led by Dr. Badrinath Prathi, Zonal Head of Sports Science Medicine (North Zone), and includes Mr. Niraj Karamchandani and Mr. Abhishek Thakar, both specialists in their respective fields.

This initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing sports science support within JKCA, ensuring that players receive top-notch medical and rehabilitation assistance.
