Jammu: The Labour and Employment Department has successfully concluded the three day technical training program for Small Business Development Units (SBDU) and Business Help Desk Units (BHU) at Udyog Bhawan, Jammu.
Secretary, Labour and Employment, Rajeev Ranjan, was the chief guest at the event.
In his keynote address, Ranjan emphasized the critical role that SBDUs and BHUs play in fostering entrepreneurship, encouraging the participants to adopt a positive mindset to maximize the impact of Mission YUVA.
Designed to enhance the capabilities of business development units, the training provided valuable insights into the government’s mission to promote entrepreneurship throughout the region. A total of 266 participants from SBDU and BHU units at both district and sub-division level attended the event.
Director, Employment and Mission Yuva, Shahzad Alam, underscored the importance of aligning with the government’s objectives in launching the initiative. He urged the participants to thoroughly review the baseline survey report and the approved Project YUVA Detailed Project Report (DPR) to gain a clear understanding of their roles in successful implementation of the program.
Dr. Murtaza Rashid, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Mission Youth/YUVA, provided a comprehensive overview of the program. He highlighted its four strategic pillars: Ecosystem Creation, Capital, Capacity Building and Connectivity.
Mission Yuva, a flagship initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir government, aims to establish 137,000 entrepreneurial units, potentially generating employment for 425,000 individuals over the next five years.
The training program featured an extensive range of session-wise presentations and hands-on training. These included in-depth overview of Mission Yuva Scheme, Yuva Portal and App Guidance, preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR) and Credit Facilitation.
The training sessions were led by the experts from esteemed institutions, including NABARD, J&K Bank, Skill Development, OSD and GDI partners, who offered valuable insights to the participants.
