SCERT launches outreach program “SCERT Jammu on Wheels”

Jammu : The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu & Kashmir, launched an ambitious outreach program, “SCERT Jammu on Wheels,”.
The initiative, aimed at strengthening the professional development of teacher educators across the Jammu division, was flagged off by Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary Education and Director, SCERT J&K.
Also present were Professor Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu and Anjali Gupta, Principal, DIET Jammu in the event.
This unique program has been designed to empower the teacher educators by providing them with modern pedagogical tools, innovative teaching methodologies and research-based best practices to enhance the quality of education at the grassroots level.
The orientation session at DIET Kud marked the first phase of this outreach programme, witnessing participation of teacher educators from DIET Jammu and DIET Kud.
Pertinently, SCERT Jammu on Wheels is a strategic initiative aimed at bridging gaps in teacher education institutes and ensuring effective dissemination of educational refor Through this outreach program, SCERT Jammu, along with DIET Jammu and DIET Kud, seeks to create a more informed, skilled and innovative teaching community, ultimately benefiting the students and the education system at large.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Shantmanu underscored the importance of continuous teacher training, stating ,“SCERT Jammu on Wheels is a pioneering step towards making professional development more accessible and impactful for educators at the grassroots level. This outreach will foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building across the Jammu Division.”
Professor Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu, emphasised the importance and role of SCERT Jammu on Wheels in bridging the gap between policy and practice in education. She stated that empowering the teacher educators through orientation programs like this is crucial for ensuring the convergence of initiatives across various DIETs under SCERT Jammu Division.
The orientation sessions at DIET Kud, GHSS Tikri, GMS Lehnu and GGMS Dogra and Teacher Educators of 11 zones of Udhampur district covered key educational initiatives. These included NIPUN Bharat (FLN), PM e-Vidya, DIKSHA, NISHTHA, Assessment Cell Multilingual Cell, NEP Cell and Inclusive Education.
The faculty members from SCERT Jammu led the interactive discussions and experience sharing sessions to enrich the learning process. The whole program was anchored by the program coordinator, Rakesh Kumar Chobber.
Principal, DIET Kud, expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting its impact on the professional growth of teacher educators. He remarked, “such outreach programs will help us align our teaching methodologies with modern educational practices, ultimately benefiting the students across the region.”
The “SCERT Jammu on Wheels” initiative will continue its journey to other DIETs across the Jammu Division, ensuring that no educator is left behind in the pursuit of excellence in education.
