HM Amit Shah Welcomes 2 Groups Severing Ties With Separatists, Asks Others To Follow The Suit

New Delhi, Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that separatism has become history in Kashmir.
His statement came a day after a close aide of late separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, and former head of Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi, publicly distanced himself from separatist politics and reaffirmed his allegiance to the country and the supremacy of the Indian Constitution. Reshi strongly criticized the ideology of the Hurriyat Conference, asserting that it failed to address the grievances of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Another separatist group J&K People’s Movement also announced its disassociation from the Hurriyat Conference.
Taking to X, the Union Home Minister wrote “The unifying policies of the Modi Government have tossed separatism out of J&K. Two organizations associated with the Hurriyat have announced the severing of all ties with separatism.”
Terming rejection of separatism in Kashmir as a big victory for the Government, Shah wrote: “I welcome this step towards strengthening Bharat’s unity and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all.
It is a big victory for PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of building a developed, peaceful and unified Bharat.”
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma also welcomed the “historic move” of two Hurriyat associated groups snapping ties with separatism. “This is a testament of the unifying policies of PM Sh.@narendramodiji and Home Minister Sh.@AmitShah ji. Their leadership is paving the way for a stronger, unified Bharat. A big victory for peace and progress in J&K,” LOP Sharma wrote on X
