DC Kulgam chairs DLRC/ DCC meeting, reviews performances of Banks, line deptts

DC emphasizes improved credit dispensations in Agriculture & MSME, with special focus on Farm Mechanization, Education, Housing & Renewable Energy

Kulgam: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Tuesday chaired the District Level Review Committee Meeting/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) in order to review the performance of Banks and line departments for quarter ending December 31, 2024 under Annual credit Plan and Govt Schemes.
The Meeting was attended by ACR, RBI, NABARD, and District Officers of line departments besides District Coordinators of various banks.
LDM, Iftikhar Ah Padder informed the meeting that deposits of Banks stand at Rs 2753.01 crores as on 31.12.2024 witnessing growth of 12.20% over December 2023, while Advances stand at Rs.2278.57cr as on 31.12.2024 witnessing growth of 5.38% over December 2023. The Credit Deposit Ratio of District Kulgam stood at 82.77%, quite above the National BenchMark of 60%.
Under District Annual Credit Plan (2024-25) of Rs.1937.00 Cr, Banks have disbursed Rs.1264.45 Cr to 46322 beneficiaries during quarter Q3 ended December 31, 2024 thus achieving 65% of ACP target.
DDC while reviewing sector wise achievements instructed Banks to improve credit dispensations in Agriculture, MSME, and more focus should be given to Farm Mechanization, Education, Housing and Renewable Energy sectors.
It was informed by the LDM that the district has achieved the targets of PMEGP, Artisans/Weavers Credit Card & PM Weavers Mudra Scheme.
The district has disbursed 325 vehicles till date under Mumkin Scheme, 30 Tejaswini cases and 56 cases disbursed under Spurring till date. Kulgam district is leading in J&K , he added.
DDC stressed for proper and timely implementation of Govt Schemes viz. PMEGP, REGP, NRLM and NULM in order to generate self-employment opportunities in the district.
The DDC instructed Banks for speedy disposal of cases. He also impressed upon the line departments to cover all eligible persons under PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.
