Srinagar : Police in Baramulla in its continuous efforts to educate the public, organized an awareness programme on New Criminal Laws at Govt Higher Secondary School Kunzer here on Saturday.
The event was chaired by SHO Kunzer and attended by Principal, staff and students of said institute. The program aimed to familiarize attendees with key amendments and their implications in the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act.
The speakers at the event explained key aspects of the new criminal laws with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) respectively. They emphasized that these laws aim to ensure speedy justice for victims and swift punishment for offenders, with specific time frames set for case investigations.
