Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that in coordination with the District administration an illegally constructed house and a plinth was demolished by it at Rekha Hassanpora Anantnag, reclaiming encroached state land. The property belonged to Haroon Rashid Ganie S/o Abdul Rashid Ganie, a known militant handler associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba ( LeT ) militant outfit. Haroon Rashid Ganie, operating from Pakistan since 2018, has been implicated in orchestrating militant activities aimed at undermining national security and sovereignty.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that this operation is part of an ongoing campaign to dismantle militant networks and eradicate their support structures, reiterating therein its commitment to uphold law and order to ensure no use or misuse of Government land by any group or individual for unlawful activities.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that it will persist with strict measures against militant operatives and their facilitators, reaffirming its uncompromising stance against terrorism in the district.
