Tribal women sensitized on Menstrual Health, Hygiene at Kishtwar

Kishtwar: SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) on Friday organised a Special Awareness Program for tribal women at AWC Gujjarbasti Padyerna, reinforcing the government’s commitment to maternal health and child well-being.
The main focus of the awareness event was on Menstrual Health, Hygiene and childcare.
SANKALP HEW team members emphasized the importance of proper maternal care and personal hygiene, which are crucial for ensuring good health for both mother and child.
The team members highlighted the significance of hygiene and childcare in preventing diseases and improving overall well-being and also encouraged women to avail government schemes available for maternal and child health.
Besides the women were also made aware about various women centric schemes like SMAS, Ladli Beti, PMMVY, Pensions, Tejaswani, PMEGP and also about Women Helpline (181).
Apart from this, SANKALP: HEW also distributed Baby Kits and Hygiene Kits among the participants which aimed to provide essential care items for newborns and promote hygiene awareness among women.
