Jammu: Police in Jammu on Friday said that they have intensified their crackdown on illegal mining in South Zone Jammu, continuing proactive enforcement under Operation Ploughing.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, Police said that within the past 24 hours, Police Post (PP) Belicharana seized a Tractor Trolley and a Tipper involved in illegal mining operations, while PP Gadigarh apprehended another Tractor Trolley engaged in similar unlawful activities. These decisive actions were taken under the clear directions of SSP Jammu and the overall supervision of SP City South and SDPO South. The seized vehicles were found engaging in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, causing ecological damage in the region. The District Mining Officer (DMO) Jammu has been informed, and legal proceedings are underway.
