G’bal : Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and SDM Kangan, a joint team comprising Food Safety officials, Revenue officers, and Police personnel conducted an extensive market inspection in Preng and Chattergul areas of Sub-Division Kangan.
The drive, supervised by Naib Tehsildar Kangan/Prang Syed Mohammad Shafi, aimed to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and other legal provisions. During the inspection, authorities imposed a fine of Rs. 2200 on violators under the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006, and the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003. An official told that the inspection was carried out to curb malpractices, ensure the sale of quality products, and prevent the violation of food and tobacco laws. He further warned traders to maintain standards and adhere to legal guidelines, emphasizing that strict action would be taken against those found violating regulations in the future.
