Srinagar, Mar 21: Two mobile phones were recovered by Kathua Jail authorities during a routine search operation, raising questions of security negligence in the high-security jail.
Sources told news agency—Kashmir Bulletin that the recovered phones are basic mobile phones. An investigation has been ordered to find out how the phones entered the jail and who brought them in.
Kathua Jail has a few hard-core criminals, including gangsters and terrorists, on its rolls. The detection of these phones has raised questions about possible contact by prisoners with external networks.
The authorities have promised a proper probe into the case, and stern action will be taken against the culprits.
