Drug peddler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Kupwara: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has booked a drug peddler in Kupwara under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS).
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the drug peddler namely Shahbaz Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Majeed Khan R/o Kupwara has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Stating that the accused was actively involved in drug peddling, primarily targeting the youth and contributing to the spread of the drug menace in the region Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to eradicate drug menace and ensure a safe and drug-free society.
