Jammu: Amran Farooq, a 2008-batch officer of the Jammu & Kashmir Police Service, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a tenure of four years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the competent authority has approved the induction of Farooq into the CBI. His appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Farooq, is currently serving as Additional SP in the Criminal Investigation Department’s Special Branch (CID SB) in Kashmir.
