Srinagar : Police in Budgam in collaboration with SAM Degree College Budgam conducted an awareness programme on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”. The main aim of the programme was to provide a platform for students to discuss and critically analyse the causes, consequences and potential solutions to drug addiction and to strengthen prevention measures of drug abuse within the community.
The event was chaired by DySP DAR Ghulam Mohiuddin along with RI DPL Budgam and I/C Drug De-addiction Centre DPL Budgam and was attended by Principal, teaching staff and students of the institution. Additionally, Dr Nisar Ahmad Wani, Associate Professor Higher Education Dept J&K was also present on the occasion.
The programme highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and the crucial role of youth in building a drug-free society. The chairing officer emphasized the responsibility of law enforcement and the community in tackling this issue, urging young people to take a stand against drugs.
While speaking on the occasion Dr Nisar Ahmad said “The fight against drug abuse requires collaboration between law enforcement agencies, educational institutions and the community. Such initiatives help us reach the youth effectively and instill in them a sense of responsibility towards a drug-free society,” At the conclusion, participants were awarded cash prizes, mementos, and certificate of participation.
