Drug peddler arrested in Srinagar, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a notorious drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police team of Srinagar police during routine patrolling duty at Rawalpora-Peerbagh link road intercepted and apprehended a suspect identified as Aqib Farooq Bhat (notorious drug peddler) S/o Farooq Ahmad Bhat R/o Nadirgund, Peerbagh Hyderpora, adding therein that during search, contraband Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No.16/2025 under NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Sadder besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to eradicate drug menace and ensure a safe and drug-free society.
